Movie Review

Interpretation: I thought that watching this movie was very beneficial and watching it made the characters come alive and a lot easier to understand. It really helped being able to see and hear the emotion from the characters; also making it more entertaining to be apart of.

How did the actors act: Each individual character had their own role and I think they all portrayed their characters very well because the emotion that they expressed was exceptionally well done. I thought that Beatrice (Emma Thompson) did an excellent job presenting the emotion that everyone wanted to see. I definitely had a different picture in my head of each actor while reading the book, each actor fit their character really well.

The Pace: Overall I thought that the pace of this movie was well set, although there were a few sections where it could have been a little more entertaining. The slow part that stood out the most was the beginning of the movie when Don Pedro arrives because it took some time to get used to who the characters were and also understanding what was going on.

Production & Direction: The production and direction crew did a phenomenal job making this play come alive. They chose out the perfect costumes, music, and setting to really set the shakespearian mood. Along with that the props that they had were used well and had good meaning.

Was it worth it: This movie was defiantly a must see and made the idea of doing the Shakespeare unit a lot more enjoyable. Watching this movie really helped my understanding of who the characters where and also made it clearer to see the comedy side of the play.

What's up Doc?

Dearest Friar,

There has been some issues here in the town of Messina and I need to ensure that I am making the proper decision by asking another Friar about everything that has happened recently. First of all my dear friend Hero has been accused of beguile by Claudio who she thought was her true love. I have thought of a scheme to prove to Claudio that she is by my troth a sweet, innocent young lady. I need to know if I am doing the right thing as a Friar by helping poor Hero. What will god think of me by doing this? What will my punishment be? I would very much appreciate your feedback as soon as possible.

God bless

Sincerely,

Friar Francis

Same Scene, Different Perspective

Today was very antic in which the wedding of fair Hero and Claudio was quite eventful. Claudio was choler at Hero for disgracing him through her beguile with Barachio. By my troth I believe Hero to be innocent. My wit encouraged me to end this fray, so I came up with a plan to feign Hero's innocence. Hero's father and myself had Hero fake her death so Claudio would feel a great deal of guilt. Our plan ended up being very successful because Claudio showed his true affection for Hero and she was proven to be innocent. The wedding was memorable and I happily married Beatrice and Benedick that same day.

Dear Love Stinks,

God blessed us with love. There is a reason that god placed you on this earth and that is to build families and friendships with people you love. If you are always negative about finding true love you are going to lead a very lonely life. You should not be trying to persuade your friend to fall out of love. If he is in love then you should respect him and his choice to be with that special person. I would advise you to look a little deeper into the thought of love and open yourself up to new people. You will find that special someone.

Love is patient; love is kind
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
There is nothing love cannot face;

God bless you.
